Run by a team of experienced, driven specialist ophthalmologists, the practice scope encompasses general ophthalmology, paediatric ophthalmology and ocular oncology.

 
 

DR ANESU MADIKANE

Dr Anesu Madikane obtained her medical degree (MBChB) from Stellenbosch University in 2010.
In 2014, She began her career in ophthalmology when she was given the opportunity to work as a medical officer in the Eye Clinic at Tshwane District Hospital.

In 2016, Dr Madikane officially began her specialist training in ophthalmology as a registrar at Steve Biko Academic Hospital and Kalafong Hospital in Pretoria. She obtained a Diploma and Fellowship from the Colleges of Medicine South Africa in 2020 and Master of Medicine (MMed) in Ophthalmology from University of Pretoria in 2021. She then ventured into private practice alongside work as a consultant ophthalmologist at Tshwane District Hospital. Dr Madikane is actively involved in ophthalmology societies both locally and on the African continent. She is the current vice chair of the ophthalmological society of South Africa’s young ophthalmology group (OSSA YO) for the 2021/2022 term. She is also part of a working group for the young ophthalmologists of the African Ophthalmology Council (AOC).

Dr Madikane is passionate about eradicating preventable blindness on the African continent through outreach cataract surgery campaigns. These campaigns take volunteer surgeons and mobile equipment to communities that would not otherwise have access to eye care services and eye surgery.


 
 

DR KABELO SEBOGODI

Dr Kabelo Sebogodi obtained his medical degree in 2010 from the University of Pretoria and completed his internship at Chris Baragwanath Hospital in 2011. He served in the general outpatient department in 2013 as part of his community service at FH Odendaal Hospital in Limpopo. Following this, he worked in the hospital’s ophthalmology department.

In 2016, Dr Sebogodi began work at Steve Biko Academic Hospital as a registrar in the Ophthalmology Department. He became a Fellow of the College of Ophthalmologists of South Africa in 2019 and obtained his Master of Medicine (MMed) in Ophthalmology in 2020. He has also spent some time as a consultant ophthalmologist at Witbank Hospital.

He is currently a general ophthalmologist who loves being in theater and operating on the eye, however his special interest is vitreoretinal surgery.


 
 
 

DR MAANDA MABOGO

Dr Maanda Mabogo obtained her medical degree at the University of Cape Town in 2010. She completed her post-graduate training in ophthalmology at Sefako Makgatho University (previously known as MEDUSA). Dr Mabogo completed a local SASOPS (South African Society of Oculoplastic Surgeons) accredited fellowship

She was an executive committee member of the OSSA Young Ophthalmologists (OSSAYO) and is currently an active member of the Ophthalmology Society of South Africa (OSSA) and SASOPS.

Dr Mabogo has a special interest in thyroid eye disease and orbital tumours, as well as oculoplastic and orbit conditions. Additionally, she has experience in managing general ophthalmology conditions and performing cataract surgery.
